Japanese stocks rose after the close on Tuesday (4/15), as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Textile sectors helped stocks advance.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.89%.
The best performers on the Nikkei 225 were Yokogawa Electric Corp. (TYO:6841), which rose 7.41% or 208.00 points to trade at 3,014.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Denso Corp. (TYO:6902) rose 5.64% or 94.00 points to close at 1,761.00 and Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd. (TYO:5802) gained 5.27% or 107.50 points to 2,148.00 at the close.
The worst performers on the session were Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:4911), which fell 5.86% or 147.50 points to close at 2,370.00. Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. (TYO:9531) fell 4.46% or 216.00 points to close at 4,630.00 and Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:9602) dropped 4.31% or 344.00 points to 7,636.00.
Gainers outnumbered decliners on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2032 to 1,560 and 256 ended unchanged.
Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, fell 1.10% to 27.84.
Crude oil for May delivery rose 0.73% or 0.45 to settle at $61.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery rose 0.66% or 0.43 to settle at $65.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 15.76 to trade at $3,242.06 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY fell 0.07% to 143.41, while EUR/JPY fell 0.37% to 162.42.
