Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday for the third day running, tracking falls on Wall Street following Fitch's US downgrade and as investors awaited key US jobs data.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.46 percent, or 147.69 points, at 32,011.59 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.38 percent, or 8.52 points, to 2,259.83.
