Japanese stocks decline amid caution ahead of the Federal Reserve chief's congressional testimony.
The Topix fell 0.3% to 2,276.81 as of 9:01 a.m. Tokyo time, while the Nikkei 225 declined 0.4% to 33,269.59.
Sony Group contributed most to the Topix decline, decreasing 1.5%. Out of 2,156 stocks in the index, 672 rose and 1,148 fell, while 336 were unchanged.
