Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday, with investors disheartened by falls in Europe and a lack of new economic policy announcements by Beijing.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.10 percent, or 33.99 points, to 33,336.43 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.35 percent, or 7.93 points, to 2,282.57.
