Hong Kong stocks finished the week with a gain, though traders remained on edge over the state of China's economy, with that anxiety offsetting hopes the Federal Reserve is near the end of its interest rate hiking campaign.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.78 percent, or 147.24 points, to 19,075.26.
The Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.06 percent, or 1.78 points, to 3,167.75, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange lost 0.19 percent, or 3.82 points, to 2,011.83.
