Hong Kong stocks ended lower Thursday as worries about China's economy overshadowed earlier optimism that the Federal Reserve will soon end its campaign of interest rate hikes.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.13 percent, or 24.29 points, to 18,928.02.
The Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.92 percent, or 29.31 points, to 3,169.52, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange sank 1.05 percent, or 21.44 points, to 2,015.65.
