The Hang Seng Index jumped 0.95 percent, or 184.20 points, to 19,534.82.
The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.14 percent, or 4.49 points, to 3,240.97, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange added 0.07 percent, or 1.54 points, to 2,060.54.
