Hong Kong stocks opened higher Monday morning as traders cheered data showing US inflation cooling further last month, easing pressure on the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.46 percent, or 86.12 points, to 19,002.55.
The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.22 percent, or 7.10 points, to 3,209.16, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange gained 0.28 percent, or 5.67 points, to 2,054.90.
