The Hang Seng Index opened 1.5% lower, dropping 286.28 to 18,932.07, as stocks lose for the fourth straight day in Hong Kong.
HSBC Holdings Plc contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 1.9%. Sino Biopharmaceutical Ltd. had the largest drop, falling 3.3%.
In early trading, all 80 shares fell; all sectors were lower, led by commerce and industry stocks.
