New Zealand's dollar advanced after the opposition National Party won the general election. The greenback weakened against all Group-of-10 peers.
NZD/USD rose as much as 0.8% to 0.5929 after opposition leader Christopher Luxon said he will form a new government of the center-right following the defeat of Prime Minister Chris Hipkins' Labour Party in Saturday's election.
The Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index slipped 0.1% after rising 0.3% last week.
The US and its allies are ramping up efforts to prevent the Israel-Hamas war from engulfing the wider region. US President Joe Biden may visit Israel soon and Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to return to Israel on Monday for the second time since last weekend's attacks by Hamas.
AUD/USD rose 0.4% to 0.6323.
USD/JPY fell 0.1% to 149.45 as it remains below the 150 level whose breach has spurred concern in the past that Japan may intervene.
